Farmers know by actual practice that you indeed do reap what you sow. Yet often we forget that the same way it is with a farmer, who plants something, then knows over time what he planted will grow, it is with other kinds of seeds. Too often we allow seeds to be planted in our hearts. Seeds that if they were ever to grow up could harm us. Seeds that we don’t even realize are there. For instance you watch something on T.V. or the Internet that you know is wrong, but you assume you will forget it. Yet over time having been dulled by it over and over again assuming that it will not grow, in time the seeds you allow planted in your mind are seeds of destruction.

Do you not wish to commit the sin of fornication which is sex outside of marriage? Then don’t commit it with your eyes first. Do you wish to be faithful to your wife? Then don’t assume the internet girl is not real if indeed she is growing in your heart. Do you wish to not have hatred in your heart? Then go to the person who wronged you and forgive them. Reckignise the seeds that are growing in your heart. If they are good water them with focus and repition. If they are seeds of destruction then root them out like the weeds they are.

The world is at war with Islamic Terrorism, yet we must also root out the potential explosive things in our lives. We hear about terrorist cells over here or over there, yet the seeds of our very own destruction lie within our own souls. Jesus said(NAS Matt. 10:28) "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."  Yes fear God and in the process say no to the evil within. The seeds of destruction you let grow in your heart that can destroy your life are what you should be concerned with, not terrorist attacks which are very unlikely to ever touch you. Say yes to the will of God which can be a mustard seed that grows as you put your faith in your Creator.
