Paul Blart Mall Cop

Kevin James is a funny guy, but when I heard about this movie I thought he plays a mall cop? How good could that be? Yet this movie really caught me off guard. It is a love story and an action adventure movie. It is really the ideal family movie in that it is PG and yet exciting like a Die Hard movie without the excessive violence. Also it is really the story of an underachieving guy who the whole world looks down on and yet he wont give up. He is a loser to a lot of people but in his heart he has a will of steel.

Kevin James really nails this movie. His kind and gentle persona at the start of the movie really makes you root for him and then as the movie progresses you see him as an aspiring hero. He makes what could have been a silly movie into a really entertaining film that makes you laugh and yet keeps you on the edge of your seat. Paul Blart Mall Cop is a movie you could easily underestimate, but like Kevin James performance it really is the real deal. I give it a 8 out of 10.
