Da' T.R.U.T.H.
  The Big Picture

Da' T.R.U.T.H. is on his fourth album now and he has really progressed his message to one of the most thorough Gospel Hip-hop albums ever. I mean this album litterally covers Genesis to Revelation in the bible. Musically this album is pretty good but it's the teaching on here that makes it like a musical Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. I mean it is that deep spiritually. In some ways it is just as much sermon as music album. One impressive thing is this record starts out with Kirk Franklin preaching on two tracks, you almost think this is a Kirk Franklin record at first. Then of course it turns into Da T.R.U.T.H. rapping. Plus there is singing and some good music, but basically at its heart this is a Sunday morning sermon with music. Which is good yet not as smooth as KJ 52 and his slick beats on 52 television.

Perhaps though this is more of a urban style and which album you prefer may depend on what style you like. It is not as good as his third record "Open Book" but well that was really the peak so far of Da T.R.U.T.H. and his style. He tackles President Obama on this record and talks about how he is black which black people are really excited about, but how Jesus must come first. A lot of people have made Obama into a god like figure. Yet not this godly rapper he sees the Big Picture which is what this record is. So will you like it? Hard to say, I think KJ is still the top rapper and he actually has a song with Da T.R.U.T.H. on his record. Yet for the urban style I think this should be very popular. Most importantly it is a sermon everyone needs to hear.  I give it an 8 out of 10.
